Will My Skin Sag With Medpor Cheek Implant Removals?

Q: Dr. Eppley, About 3 months ago I had plastic surgery and was given a MEDPOR Cheek Implant. I am not happy with it at all and want it removed as soon as possible.

I googled MEDPOR Cheek removal and your information came up.

Will my skin be saggy after even having it in there only for about 3 months?

Or can something be done to counter act?

I just would like to look like myself again.

Hope to hear from you soon.

A: The time that the implant has been in is irrelevant. The surgical act of releasing the osteocutaneous ligaments tp place the implants is the source of any potential soft tissue sagging. There is no surgical technique that can reliably replace/restore the ligamentous attachments. Thus you remove the implants and see whether such soft tissue sagging is significant or not.
