Will A Sliding Genioplasty Reversal Cause Skin Sagging?
Q: Dr. Eppley, I had a genioplasty of 6mm advancement 4 months ago and I still want to get it reversed. Is a full reversal too risky? Will it cause too much skin sagging. I am 19 years old and my first surgery was actually a success except the fact that I don’t like the results. The 3 first pictures here are the post-op 4 months later. Thank you for you answer!
A: I think the risk of any skin sagging with a 6mm sliding genioplasty reversal is fairly low. Skin sagging is more likely to occur from chin implant removal than a sliding genioplasty.
