Which Is Better For Forehead Reduction – Hairline Advancement or Hair Transplants?

Q: Dr. Eppley, I just wondering on having a high forehead with no loss of hair or receding. Would I get a forehead reduction or hair transplant. My dad and mom have huge foreheads. I’m 21 and want to make it smaller but I’m nervous about the scar and stuff

A:Because the often inadequate hair densities obtained with hair transplants for forehead reduction I would strongly suggest a frontal hairline advancement. Understandably one would be concerned about the scar but having done a lot of male hairlines, particularly in patients with darker pigmentations, it actually does very well and I have not seen it to be a significant aesthetic issue.
