What Type Of X Ray Can Show My Fillers and Implants?
Q: Dr. Eppley, What kind of exam is done to detect facial fillers and implants that I already have? Because I had a CT scan and it didn’t show up my hyaluronic acid fillers and not even my porous polyethylene jaw angle implant
Regarding hyaluronic acid fillers, is there a specific setting for them to show up on CT scans? Because I have them in my cheekbones, and they didn’t show up either.
A:HA fillers can never be seen on a CT or any other scan. Only Radiesse filler can be seen on scans.
Porous polyethylene implants can be seen on a 3D CT scan but it takes special software to extract the data to make them visible.
