What Type Of MIdface Implants Do I Need?

Q: Dr. Eppley, m interested in an evaluation for custom infraorbital rim implants. My primary goal is improving my under-eye support and orbital rim. I’d like to know whether I’m a candidate for infraorbital implants, malar implants, a custom midface implant, or another procedure that would best achieve my goals.

I’ve attached several photos of myself, along with reference photos of Jordan Barrett. The additional photos are of male model Jordan Barrett, and are included only to illustrate the specific under-eye and midface appearance I’m hoping to achieve. I understand that every patient’s anatomy is different and that I cannot expect to look identical to another person, but my goal is simply to determine what improvements are realistically possible with my facial structure, and which procedure(s) would be the most appropriate.

A: Thank you for your inquiry and sending your pictures. I can see the relative skeletal discrepancies between your upper mid face and your much stronger jaw. What you really need is primarily a malar implant with an infraorbital component. Your ideal augmentation goals I have seen many times including those exact models so I do understand what you are trying to achieve.
