What Preop Muscle Training Do I Need for Fat Injections to the Bony Shoulder?

Q: Dr. Eppley, I am interested in fat injection for bony shoulder / separated ac joint. I am curious also about what I should do to prepare for such a thing, for example which muscles to work on, etc

A: I assume you are wanting fat injections over the AC joint to mask its prominence after the separation. If so there is no need for any preop muscular training. Fat injections are done to build up the soft tissue around the bony prominence. Thus there is no benefit to either deltoid or trapezius muscle exercises which like to the side and behind the AC joint.
