Is A Third Genioplasty Revision Risky?
Q: Dr. Eppley, You mention that a second genioplasty has identical risks to the first, would a third revision be the same or more risky? Will there be significant soft tissue changes and scarring by then? Especially with a bit of existing chin tightness already. Is this something you have performed before?
A:Since I don’t know what type of bone movements have been done in the first and second procedure nor what may be considered for the third I can’t really answer the question as to whether the risk are or more. However I do think it’s fair to say, mthat no matter what the tertiary bone movement may be you are not going to improve the tightness by whatever bony positional change is done.
