Is A Chin Implant Good For A Backward Slanted Chin?
Q: Dr. Eppley, I have been thinking about getting a chin implant for awhile now and have started the process of making it a reality. I still want to look like myself, but I’m very self conscious about my profile due to how my chin slants.
A:With a horizontally short but long and retroclined chin position, a chin implant would not be the correct chin augmentation procedure. (it will lengthen an already long chin) A sliding genioplasty is the better aesthetic choice as it can bring the chin foreward as well as vertically shorten it in the advancement process.
