How Can My Vertical Orbital Dystopia Be Fixed?

Q: Dr. Eppley, I want symmetrical eyes as my right eye sits lower than my left. Can it be done and how?

A: You have an aesthetic VOD (vertical orbital dystopia). This means the entire orbital box and all the associated soft tissues (eyelids, eyebrows) have developed lower compared to the other side. Your VOD is about 5mms. To adequately treat VOD every component of it must be addressed from raising up the lower orbital rim-floor and cheek (custom orbital-cheek implant), raising the lower brow bone (transpalpebral inferior brow shave), endoscopic browlift and raising the upper and lower eyelids. You need the complete version of VOD which addresses all five components of the problem.

Can you achieve symmetrical eyes….no. You can significantly lessen the asymmetry to one that is much less noticeable.
