How Can I Improve My Boxy Chin Shape After Chin Implant Surgery?
Q: Dr. Eppley, 7 months ago, I had a chin implant and it looks very boxy. I’m not sure what exactly needs to be done to help it. It also makes my mouth move like a ventriloquist dummy and makes the folks around my mouth now prominent.
A:Without even knowing what style and size chin implant that you have I can tell from the outside it is too wide and sits too low on your chin. You need to exchange that for a specially designed v-shaped chin implant that is smaller and is positioned properly on the bone. I would need to see a copy of the operative report from your prior surgery and it would ideally be helpful to have a cone beam scan of your chin which would show the exact position on the bone as well as it shape.
