Can You Move My Eye Forward?

Q: Dr. Eppley, A question for you. As I know he is well renowned about custom made implant. So iIneed entire midface augmentation But I also oneed ne eye moved forward a few milimetters because my right eye is set back more than the left.

My question is can you help moving my eye forward and at the same time using custom implant for complete midface augmentation?

A: Unless the eye is posteriorly placed due to an injury (in which it at one time had more forward projection) you can’t change the natural position of the eye into a more forward position. It is important to remember that the eye is attached by the optic nerve so pulling on it to try and move it forward risk potential vision loss. Moving an eye ur or down is one thing since it doesn’t cause optic nerve stretch/injury but pulling it forward has completely different concerns in that regard.
