Can Old Chin Filler Be Removed in Chin Implant Surgery?
Q: Dr. Eppley, Injectable filler found during chin implant surgery can be removed, and will not sit on top of the augmented chin and cause overprojection?
A:Filler that presents itself in surgery would be removed because it is visualized. Any non-visualized filler would remain and would need to eventually dissipate by the normal resorption process which is highly accelerated by the trauma of surgery in the overall inflammatory healing response.
