Can My Fallen Cheeks Be Lifted After Cheek Implant Removals?
Q: Dr. Eppley, I am a middle aged man who had cheek bone implant about surgery about 30 years ago in my early 20s . I had the implants removed about a year after the surgery as I felt they were to big. Unfortunately my face sagged when the implants were removed. I have learned to live with it as I did not know there was a remedy. As time goes by my face obviously has sagged more with age. I read that you can re suspend the tissue with a mitek suture.
A: The most effective treatment for cheek sagging after cheek implant removal is the placement of new cheek implants not cheek tissue resuspension. That is a poorly effective procedure for cheek ptosis.
