Can My Brow Asymmetry Be Fixed?
Q: Dr. Eppley, Hello. I have a right forehead and upper brow symmetry that I want corrected. I will attach a few photos showing my asymmetry of my right forehead and upper problem. Thank you.
A:Thank you for your inquiry and sending all of your pictures. In assessing your right forehead asymmetry the upper orbital box is lower than that of the right resulting in a lower eyebrow position as well as a lower lateral brow bone position. The question is whether a unilateral eyebrow left alone would provide significant improvement for you or whether addressing the fullness in the right upper eyelid due to the lower brow bone position would also be necessary. For now I am going to assume the combination both as needed for the purposes of a requested quote.
The one cautionary note that I would mention is that in treating more modest facial asymmetries the result almost has to be perfect for the patient to view it as worthwhile. It is always important to remember the patients are going to critique their postoperative results with the same degree of scrutiny that brought the problem to surgery.
