Can I Have Infraorbital-Malar Implants After Lateral Canthoplasties and Flat Transfer?

Q: Dr. Eppley, I have recently undergone fat transfer to my under eyes as well as canthoplasty. Is there a cheek implants that targets the zygos-malar region for men that I can still use or is this not possible since I had canthoplasty and fat transfer.

A:You are referring to custom cheek (zygomatic)( implants which can have infraorbital extensions anteriorly and zygomatic arch extensions posteriorly based on the patient’s aesthetic needs. There are endless variations of this midface implant concept. This style of midface implant is the most common male midface implant that I do. Having had lateral canthoplasties and undereye fat transfer does not preclude having this implant placed even through a lower eyelid incision.
