Can I Get A Dermal-Fat Graft For A Severe Glabellar Indentation?
Q: Dr. Eppley, I have a unique problem with a dent from a steroid injection in my glabella area. It was done to bring down swelling after a seroma from a rhinoplasty in September. I am extremely embarrassed by it and want it fixed desperately. I can not do filler because I had a terrible reaction to filler. The rhinoplasty was done to remove granulomas from Restylane filler! I’m told this is a dangerous area for filler and fat transfer due to vascular occlusion risk. I saw a case you did with dermal grafting in the glabella area and wondered if that may be an option for me. I will include a photo
A:That is an impressive glabellar indentation from a steroid injection. You are correct in that injections iin this low central forehead area do have a potential history of adverse events. Thus the use of a dermal-fat that graft placed through an endoscopic approach seems to be the most prudent treatment option.
