Am I A Good Candidate For Mouth Widening?

Q: Dr. Eppley, I plan to get orthognathic surgery in the near future which will change my jaw most notably so I didn’t include a side profile but I still have some concerns with some frontal features that seem like they cause poor facial harmony. My first concern that I wanted to bring up is the width of my lips. They are quite narrow and the fullness of them exaggerates that as well. I also think I could benefit from eyelid procedures to make me eye area appear less droopy and sad and make them more awake and angular.

A:The problem with mouth widening in patients with full lips is that it not well seen…as the height of the widened lips would be so much more narrow than the natural fullness of the rest of your lips.
