Cosmetic Procedures - Thread Lift - Operation
The Threadlift procedure is usually performed in the office under a combination of local anesthesia and preoperative oral sedation. Medications are taken about an hour prior to procedure or intravenous medications are given at the time of the procedure to induce a state of relaxation and comfort. Numbing medication is then injected along the tracts of where the threads will be placed.
Small incisions are made in the scalp or behind the ear from which the Threads are introduced and guided into position. Resorbable sutures are used to close the incisions. Tapes are glued to the skin along the line of Thread placement to support the skin suspension for the first few days after surgery. Typically, 6 - 8 threads are needed for each procedure.
