In my career as a plastic surgeon in Indianapolis, I have worked exclusively within the Indiana University Health System (formerly known as Clarian Health System). Since its inception in the late 1990s, the Indiana University Health System has represented a statewide network of facilities and health care providers. It extends from downtown Indianapolis, where Methodist University and Riley Children's hospitals are located, outward into suburban Indianapolis, where Indiana University North Medical Center in Carmel and Indiana University West Medical Center in Avon are located. Throughout the state of Indiana, 10 other hospitals are partnered with Indiana University, including Tipton Hospital in Tipton, Clarian Arnett Health in Lafayette, Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Bloomington Hospital of Orange County in Paoli, Bedford Regional Medical Center in Bedford, Blackford Community Hospital in Hartford City, Starke Memorial Hospital in Knox, Goshen Health System in Goshen and LaPorte Memorial Hospital in LaPorte. An additional partner, Clarian Saxony Medical Center in Fishers, Indiana, will be added in 2011.
